Junior cricket at BCCC is a highlight of the Birkenhead sporting calendar. Every Saturday morning during the summer season, our year 5–8 players take to the field at War Memorial Park — developing their skills, making friends, and falling in love with the game.
Our junior programme is run by dedicated coaches and volunteers who love the sport and believe every kid deserves a great experience. Whether your child is brand new to cricket or has been playing for years, there's a place for them at BCCC.
We compete in the Auckland Cricket Association junior competition. Players are grouped by year level, with adapted playing conditions to ensure the game is fun and age-appropriate.
Senior juniors. Preparation for youth cricket. Strong focus on skill development and team play. Saturdays.
Year 7
Competitive junior cricket. Teams compete across the ACA Year 7 grade. Saturdays.
Year 6
Building on fundamentals. Players develop batting, bowling and fielding in a team environment. Saturdays.
Year 5
Introduction to hardball cricket. Focuses on participation and basic skills. Saturdays.

Games are played accross Auckland and at War Memorial Park, Mahara Avenue, Birkenhead. Parking available.
Tuckshop open
A sausage sizzle and tuckshop operate on game mornings — a community favourite!
All abilities welcome
We don't cut players. Every child gets game time and encouragement.
Useful info for parents
Birknehead cricket uniform (check the uniform purchase page for more info), sunscreen, water bottle, and sports shoes. The club provides shared gear for new players.
Fees are set per season. Check PlayHQ for current pricing or contact the club.
We love help! Parent volunteers for scoring, tuckshop, and team support are always welcome — but it's not compulsory.
